Privacy Policy
Block the Zacks · Last updated 26 October 2026
The short version
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name or email address.
- Your scores, settings and saved game stay on your device. We do not receive them.
- The game is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Google collects some data to show and measure them. Where the law requires it, you are asked first, and you can say no.
- If you use Apple's Game Center, Apple handles your scores for the leaderboard.
- We do not sell your data, and we run no tracking or analytics of our own.
Who we are
Block the Zacks is made by Bytesize, Sweden ("we", "us"). We are responsible for this game and this policy. For anything about your privacy, write to hey@blockthezacks.com.
What stays on your device
The game saves your best score, your settings (sound, music, vibration), your game in progress, and a few counters it needs to work, such as how many games you have started and how long you have played in total. This is stored only on your device, so you can pick up where you left off. It is never sent to us.
It is deleted when you delete the game. Your device's own backups, such as iCloud backup, may include it, as they include other apps' data.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The game is paid for by ads, served by Google AdMob, a service of Google. To choose, show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google's software in the game may collect:
- your IP address, and an approximate location worked out from it;
- information about your device and the game, such as the model, operating system and language;
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), but only if you allow tracking when your device asks;
- how you interact with ads, such as whether an ad was shown or tapped;
- diagnostic information about how the ads performed.
Google acts as an independent controller for the data it collects this way. Google explains how it uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its full privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices about ads.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent with Google's consent form before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time under Privacy choices in the game's settings.
- Tracking. On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks whether the game may track you. If you say no, your advertising identifier is not shared, and you see ads that are less personalised. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- If you choose not to have personalised ads, you still see ads. They are chosen without a profile of you.
Leaderboards (Apple Game Center)
If you are signed in to Game Center, your best score is sent to Apple's Game Center so it can appear on the leaderboard, along with your Game Center player name. Apple handles this under its own privacy policy, at apple.com/legal/privacy. We do not receive your Apple ID or any of your contact details.
Purchases
If you buy an in-app purchase, such as removing ads, the payment is handled entirely by Apple. We only learn that the purchase was made, so the game can unlock it. We never see your payment details.
Why we may use this data
Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Personalised ads and tracking rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, as described above.
- Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game free to play.
- Emails you send us are used only to answer you.
Where your data goes
Google and Apple may process data outside the EU and the UK, including in the United States. They protect these transfers with the safeguards the law requires, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long it is kept
We keep no data about you on our own servers. Google and Apple keep the data described above for as long as their own policies say. If you email us, we keep your message only as long as we need it to help you.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also withdraw any consent you have given.
Because we hold no personal data about you ourselves, requests about ad data are best made to Google, and about Game Center to Apple. If you write to us, we will help you find the right place. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Sweden this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), at imy.se.
Children
Block the Zacks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal data through the game, write to us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the game.
